What is Open Buying Days?
  • An opportunity for non-current suppliers (merchandise, fixtures, P-O-P, signage) to have an audience with a Buyer.
When is the next one?
  • The dates for the next Open Buying Days have not yet been confirmed but are tenatively scheduled for June of 2010.

Where Will They Be Held?
  • Nashville Renaissance Hotel – Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

How Will the Process Work?
  • Vendors may go to www.tractorsupply.com for online registration instructions or call 1-866-363-7062, in advance,  to schedule a 30-minute meeting with a Buyer to review their product line, and determine if there is an opportunity for future discussion.
  • During each 30-minute meeting, supplier needs to focus on convincing the Buyer that there is a viable business reason to schedule a follow-up appointment. 
  • Follow-up appointments, if one is justified, will be scheduled prior to departure.

Who Is Invited to Participate?
  • Any non-current supplier (merchandise, fixtures, P-O-P, signage) who desires to become a supplier to TSC and who did not previously hold an appointment at the June 2009 Open Buying Days.

How does TSC Advertise their “Open Buying Days” to the Trade?
  • ¼ to ½ page ads in key trade journals (Home Center News, Discount Store News, Automotive Today, Feed Stuffs, etc.) and Tractor Supply Company’s Internet site.

Supplier Prerequisites - Do your homework!
  • Spend time on TSC’s Internet site (www.tractorsupply.com).
  • Visit a TSC store.
  • Supplier products must (broadly) fit the categories that fit TSC’s “niche”.

Suppliers Interested in Open Buying Days Info
  • Suppliers will not be notified of which Buyer they will be meeting with.
  • Suppliers will be asked to not contact the Corporate office or anyone in it.
  • Suppliers will be asked to not send samples ahead of time. They may bring samples with them to the meeting. Any samples sent earlier will be destroyed.
  • Suppliers will be limited to 2 attendees.
  • If a Manufacturer’s Rep is attending, someone must accompany them from the company they are representing.
  • Once the appointment is scheduled, suppliers will receive a confirmation email containing: Letter of Introduction, Appointment Confirmation,TSC Values Statement and a copy of our Code of Conduct and Ethical Business Standards.

How to Schedule an Appointment?
